Smeal Case Competition: Registration Deadline

The Smeal Case Competition, presented by Kohl’s, is an undergraduate competition that challenges students' knowledge, problem solving abilities, and teamwork skills to solve realistic business problems in a demanding twenty-four hour format. Teams will compete against the top business students from Smeal College of Business.  This year the competition will be held at the Atherton Hotel from March 21st-23rd 2013.

Last year, over thirty teams applied and sixteen teams were selected to compete in the event. Kohl’s representatives, faculty, staff, and students are very excited to once again host the third annual Smeal Case Competition.

This year, sixteen teams will be chosen to compete at the event and four finalists will contend for the Smeal Case Cup as well as a $5,000 scholarship from Kohl’s that will be divided among the winning team members.  The Smeal Case Competition is an excellent way to test your business knowledge in a competitive and challenging environment!

Registration for the competition is now open!  You can apply online at http://ugstudents.smeal.psu.edu/smeal-case-competition/application-process.  The deadline to apply for the 2013 Smeal Case Competition is Tuesday, November 13th 2012. Teams consist of four students that are enrolled in the Smeal College of Business.  Each team must have an adviser present at the competition.   The adviser has to be a Penn State faculty or staff but does not necessarily have to be staff or faculty from Smeal.  There will be no knowledge of the case until case distribution at the competition. Teams will receive a case and have 24 hours to analyze and present their ideas.
