Preparing to Go Checklists

Select the appropriate checklist, Penn State Programs or Non-Penn State Programs, and complete the necessary paperwork the semester before departure abroad.

Select the appropriate checklist below. Review and complete necessary paperwork the semester before you leave for your abroad experience. Please note that Education Abroad planning is a complex process and may require you to meet with individual offices more than once before you leave.

Penn State Education Abroad Checklist

The Smeal Office of International Programs supports students’ efforts in planning their time abroad from forming goals, to selecting a program from over 80 choices, to advising them on the details of the International Business Minor.

Non-Penn State Program Abroad Checklist

The Smeal Office of International Programs is happy to work with you if you are trying to decide between attending a Penn State or non-Penn State program. If you decide on a non-Penn State program, you must select the program yourself and work with your Academic Adviser and the Undergraduate Admissions Office to complete your planning.  If you need a signature to allow you to study through another institution, please visit the Admissions Office.
