The mission of Undergraduate Advising at Smeal
The Smeal College Undergraduate Programs Office facilitates the enrollment and matriculation of undergraduate student toward completion of baccalaureate degree requirements by:
- Recognizing the importance of higher education as a time when students grow personally and develop a sense of worth and identity.
- Assisting students in the development of meaningful educational plans that are compatible with their life goals.
- Viewing academic advising as a continuous process of clarification and evaluation.
- Recognizing that the ultimate responsibility for making decisions about life goals and educational plans rests with the individual student.
- Providing access to academic advisers and to quality programs and information responsive to the dynamic college and University environment in which we function.
