Smeal Student Mentors

Information on the Smeal Student Mentors

All incoming first-year students are assigned a mentor. The Smeal Student Mentors are a selected group of upper-class students that serve as a first contact on campus, assist with the transition to college and campus life, and assist the Advising Center with key programming activities for first-year students.

Each fall the Smeal Student Mentors host a welcome event for the first-year students. Additionally, in the fall the Mentors offer a scheduling social for their mentees. The Smeal Student Mentors also host a Professional Development Workshop for first-year students and are responsible for our Phone-A-Thon in the spring where they call students that have been offered admission to Smeal.
