    3. MGMT 451W (3) Business, Ethics, and Society [Prerequisites: B A 241 & B A 242 or B A 243]
    4. MGMT 461 (3) International Management [Prerequisites: B A 304]
    5. MGMT 471 (3) Strategic Management [Prerequisites: MGMT 326; B A 411 or taken concurrently]
  2. Select three credits of Related Area (3 credits)

Management Entrance Requirements
Program Years 2009 and 2010

 

Entrance to the Management (MGMT) major is based on University policy, which outlines strict procedures for applying to and being offered enrollment in a Smeal College major. Offers are competitive and decisions are based on the following:

  • Completion of the following Entrance-to-Major courses by the end of Spring semester of your second year: ACCTG 211, [B A 241 & B A 242 (or B A 243)], ECON 002, ECON 004, [ENGL 015 or ENGL 030], MIS 204, [MATH 110 or MATH 140], and [SCM 200 or STAT 200].
  • Earning a grade of "C" or higher in ACCTG 211, [B A 241 & B A 242 (or B A 243)], MIS 204, [MATH 110 or MATH 140], and [SCM 200 or STAT 200].
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 earned by the end of the Fall semester of the second year and maintained through to the end of the Spring semester of the second year.
  • Complete the one-time only application to a major on eLion at the start of the Spring semester of the second year.
  • Students must be enrolled as a pre-major in the Smeal College or enrolled in the Division of Undergraduate Studies (DUS).
  • In addition to the above requirements, students not enrolled in the Smeal College of Business who are interested in MGMT (or any other Smeal major) must earn a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 at the end of their first year (completion of the second semester) to be eligible to apply for a Smeal major in their second year.
